Drink plenty of water. At least 10 to 12 glasses. Especially warm water.

Maintain a salt-restricted diet or keep a low sodium diet. Try to keep your salt intake less than 5 grams a day.

Maintain appropriate body weight. Target a BMI of less than 24 (Especially for Indians)

Monitor your sugar levels. Target an HbA1c of less than 6.0. Fasting blood sugar level of less than 100. Postprandial or two hours post-meal blood sugar levels of less than 200.
