Some people make mistakes while networking. You have to play a long game with a small number of people. Thus, you can find people with similar values and hobbies. Don’t just go to an event and collect business cards.

Avoid following up with people with whom you don’t have any common interest.

Look at volunteer events where you can volunteer.

Attend high-end events and don’t go directly to the panelists to talk.

Rather, talk to the moderator and be humble with him/her to the extent you can.

Aver your portion of interest and s/he would show a specific person to interact.
Once
Go and talk to him/her since you have a social stamp of approval from one person.
