The Sunnah way to Eat

As with all other aspects of a Muslim’s life, the way we must eat is also carefully laid out in the words of Allah and the practices of Prophet Muhammed (pbuh). The Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) made a point of developing remarkably clean and healthy eating habits. Learning the proper etiquette for eating is important and these can be broken into three different categories. They are (1) Before eating, (2) while eating (3) after eating. Here are the prominent 13 sunnahs of eating.

Tasks

Start by saying Bismillah.

Daily 3x

Sit on the floor when eating.

Daily 3x

Always try to eat together.

Daily 3x

Eat with your right hand.

Daily 3x

Eat from the side that is nearest to you.

Daily 3x

Use 3 fingers when eating.

Daily 3x

Don't criticize any food regardless of its taste.

Once

Always compliment good food
